Website management after launch

Website maintenance and management

We manage and maintain existing websites: updates, backups, functional checks and content changes. Work follows an agreed task list, with clear responsibilities, priorities and support terms.

The operating constraint

Who looks after the website once it is live?

A website needs attention beyond its initial launch. Who updates the software, checks forms, changes information and responds when something stops working? We agree those responsibilities before taking over, and separate technical maintenance from routine content work and new development.

Signals that intervention is needed

  1. 01

Updates are postponed because nobody owns backup, testing and rollback.

  2. 02

Content and product changes depend on ad-hoc requests with no priority or acceptance rule.

  3. 03

Forms, analytics, integrations or checkout fail without being detected quickly.

  4. 04

The site remains online but becomes slower, less secure or harder to convert over time.

Fit

Who this service is for

01

Companies without an internal website owner or dependable technical handover.

02

Teams inheriting WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify or another documented web platform.

03

Businesses that need a controlled backlog combining maintenance and measurable improvements.

Content management

Updates to pages, images and products using approved materials and instructions. The volume and frequency are agreed for the engagement.

Technical maintenance

Platform-appropriate updates, security checks, backups and testing of included functions. We agree when changes can be made and how to restore the previous state if something fails.

Optimisation and new development

Speed, form, SEO and feature improvements can be added as separate work, with their own objectives, estimates and checks. They are not treated as routine updates.

01

WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and other platforms

We manage WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify within the available access and features. Maintenance differs by platform: server updates, app updates and backup arrangements are not the same for every site. Other CMS platforms and custom websites require a technical review before we confirm support.

02

How progress is measured

We track uptime signals where available, update status, unresolved vulnerabilities, defects, response against the agreed model, page performance, publishing time and completed improvement outcomes.

03

What is not automatically included

A full redesign, new features, migration, incident recovery and SEO or advertising campaigns are assessed separately. We do not promise unlimited work, permanent availability or a website that cannot be compromised. Hosting and third-party services have their own responsibilities. Working hours, response times and emergency arrangements are agreed before work starts.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between administration and maintenance?

Administration covers content and operational changes; maintenance covers updates, security, backup, testing and technical health.

Can you take over a site built by another supplier?

Yes, after a takeover audit confirms access, dependencies, licences, documentation and the safe scope of responsibility.

Do you support platforms other than WordPress and Shopify?

Potentially, after the technology, access and maintainability are verified. We do not promise support for an unknown stack before inspection.

Can maintenance include SEO and conversion improvements?

Yes, as prioritised improvement work with its own evidence and acceptance criteria, separate from routine updates.

How much does monthly website maintenance cost?

The cost depends on the platform, site condition, number of integrations, change volume and support terms. The quote distinguishes recurring tasks from separately estimated work. A site with existing issues may need repairs before routine maintenance begins.

What happens if the website stops working?

We review the incident under the agreed support terms and establish whether it involves the website, hosting or an external service. We carry out work or coordinate with the responsible provider within the agreed access and scope. Out-of-hours response and incident recovery require explicit arrangements; permanent support is not assumed.
