Need a website for your business? Here is how we get started

Need a website for your business but unsure where to start? Perhaps you do not have copy or photographs yet. Perhaps you already have a site but are unhappy with it. You do not have to resolve everything before discussing the project.

The first conversation should help you understand what you need, not require you to arrive with a technical solution already chosen. Start with what your business does and what you would like a customer to find out or do on the website.

We start with your business, not a page template

A service business website has a different role from an online store. A visitor to the first may need to understand the services and send an enquiry. A store visitor needs to find products and complete a purchase.

We therefore begin with your offer, your customers and how you work with them. Those answers help us identify the information and pages needed. You do not need to know the technical terminology.

No copy or photographs yet? We agree how to prepare them

Missing materials should not prevent an initial conversation. Explain your services in your own words and tell us which questions customers ask. That gives us a starting point for organising the information.

We agree whether the project includes writing original copy, adapting existing materials or simply adding content you provide. For images, we review what is available and what needs preparing. Responsibilities and costs are defined in the proposal; we do not assume everything is included.

If you have a website, we check what is worth keeping

Not every problem requires a new site. Useful information may be difficult to find, a form may be broken or pages may be awkward to use on a phone. In those cases, targeted improvements are worth assessing first.

If a rebuild is needed, we identify which content to keep and what should change. The aim is to address the actual problem, not replace everything just for a different appearance.

We choose features around what you need

You do not need to choose the platform or plugins yourself. We first discuss what should happen on the website. For example, a form requesting an appointment is not the same as a system that automatically confirms an available time slot.

We clarify these differences before preparing the proposal. Separating launch essentials from later additions gives the project a clear scope.

You know what is included and what you can edit yourself

Before work begins, you should understand which pages and features will be built, who prepares the materials, the project stages and what affects the timeline. Build costs are separated from recurring costs such as hosting, licences and maintenance.

We also discuss ongoing administration: which text, images and information you can update yourself and when you will need help. The website needs mobile checks and tests of its important functions before handover.

How to start a conversation with iQbizz

You can contact us without a finished plan. Briefly describe your business, tell us whether you have an existing website and explain what you want to improve or achieve. Share a deadline or an approximate budget if you have one; otherwise, we can discuss them together.
