Selling on Trendyol: costs, commissions and operational readiness

Publishing products on Trendyol is only the beginning. You also need accurate stock, timely order preparation and a clear understanding of what remains after costs. Preparing these processes before launch helps avoid preventable problems.

Check the conditions that apply to you

Confirm commissions, delivery rules and commercial terms in current documents and your seller account. Information that applies to another seller or an earlier period may not apply to your business.

Prepare the product information

Check the name, description, photographs, variants and required fields for each product category. Buyers should understand what they will receive. Missing details can lead to questions, unsuitable purchases and returns.

If the same item is sold on your website or other platforms, decide which system holds the correct stock and price. This might be your inventory application or another chosen system. The important thing is one clear rule rather than conflicting figures.

Assign responsibility for each order

Who checks a new order? Who prepares the parcel? Who follows delivery and handles a return? Agree on these responsibilities before volume grows. Software can help, but it does not replace a person being accountable.

Calculate what remains after costs

Include the product cost, applicable commission, packaging, delivery paid by the business and other relevant charges. Consider discounts and returns too. Check VAT treatment with your accountant and compare figures on the same basis.

Hypothetical example: a popular product needs expensive packaging and is frequently returned. It may contribute less than a product with fewer orders and lower costs. Read sales volumes together with costs, not in isolation.

Compare orders with payments received

Follow the connection between delivered orders, returns, deductions and amounts paid to you. Use platform documents to explain differences. The order total and bank receipt are not necessarily supposed to match directly.

Start with a manageable set of products

Before expanding, check the full sequence: publication, stock, order preparation, delivery, any return and an identifiable payment. Continue once the process is clear and can be repeated without improvising.
